A cup of the best (or stickiest) Hot Choolate in HK

Months before, I have read about an article about the opening of a new chocolate boutique in Hong Kong, not the ones from France or Belgium, but it’s a Hong Kong original namely Vero.
Perhaps you may not known their award-winning executive pâtissier Koo but your must be known their signature product: The Xocolatl. It’s basically a line of their hot chocolate beverages with high consistency and thickness, made with highly concentrated chocolate, varying from different degrees of chocolate and region of cocoa.

Recently the Eat & Travel Weekly iPhone app featured a second-drink-discount coupon for the Xocolatl drinks, so that’s a bargain for me and so why not go for a try?

I’ve tried their flagship Xocolatl Signature 75% ($45), the 75% in the name means the “darkness” of the chocolate. The drink is made at the time you place the order. Steamed with very little amount of milk, and topped with a thin piece of chocolate (that will be melt in front your eyes).

You’ll have to drink the drink as soon it’s served or otherwise it’ll be cooled down and lost the “soul”.

The drink is so thick that tastes like you’re eating (or drinking) a piece of chocolate that just melted. Be cautioned that you’ll feel sweet to the tired so you should’t leave your tummy too full before having this drink.

Enjoy it slowly or try with Vero’s side-dishes like macaroons or mini muffins and you should finish it in no time (actually, the drink is served in a small glass like the Demitasses for the espresso.).

So be sure to get the coupon and it’s free to download until May 2.
